Welcome to the TriCounty Force-Free Alliance. We serve as a comprehensive resource for pet owners seeking professionals who are committed to humane, science-based, and force-free care for companion animals. Our directory includes dog trainers, veterinarians, groomers, daycare providers, boarding facilities, pet sitters, dog walkers, shelters/rescues, and retailers who have formally pledged to uphold humane force-free principles.
Each member affirms that animals in their care or under their instruction will be handled without the use of intimidation, fear-based methods, flooding (the deliberate and overwhelming exposure to aversive stimuli), physical force, or pain. Members also commit to using only the minimum level of restraint necessary to ensure the safety of the animal, the handler, and all involved, and to do so without any intention to cause harm. Members further pledge not to sell or promote equipment or products designed to intentionally inflict fear or pain.
By supporting and collaborating with local animal care businesses that uphold humane and ethical standards in both practice and product offerings we will promote a culture of compassion, welfare, and evidence-based care throughout the pet-care community.
